Upon your research of your recent inquire of a buttock augmentation you should always consider these questions about the Plastic Surgeon while looking. Are they certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery? Were they specifically trained in the field of cosmetic or plastic surgery and if so how many years of training did they have in that specific field. Does the surgeon have hospital privileges to perform his surgeries, if so what hospitals? If the office has an in house surgical facility is it accredited by a nationally or state recognized agency? These are things you can look up on the internet or ask the surgeon upon your consultation.
Are you a good candidate for this procedure? Ask the surgeon if this is right for you, and his opinion. Remember they do these EVERYDAY. His/her job is to evaluate your insecurities and address them. Be sure to ask if what is expected of yourself to receive the best possible results. Should you be working out, clean diet, etc.?
ALWAYS ask where and how will he/she be performing your procedure, and what surgical technique is he/she recommending for you. Each surgeon performs the same procedure but may utilize different techniques. Make sure you have a clear understanding of what methods of liposuction they use and how they reinject fat.
Recovery always depends on your body but it’s always good to ask general questions. How long of a recovery should you expect, and might you need anything special for recovery? Do they recommend having any help during recovery? Every surgeon has a different protocol for how to handle recovery, by asking it can help determine if it fits best with you, your healing style, and your schedule. Keep in mind, many surgeons require you to have post-operative follow ups to stay updated throughout your recovery.
Surgical complications are rare but they can and do happen. Discuss with your Plastic Surgeon all the risk and complications associated with your procedure and if a complication does arise how do they handle them. Be honest about your medical history and through in your discussion whether this surgery is safe and right for you.
Lastly, how can you expect to look overtime? Are the results immediate? Generally swelling is apparent with this type of surgery and your immediate results can differ from patient to patient. Talk to your surgeon and explain how you expect to look, if it is possible. Always ask if you are unsatisfied following the procedure, do you have options? Most importantly remember surgery is usually permanent, be sure to have a good understanding of the surgery and what to expect.
